Reflection
A few days ago, I woke up with the phrase “faithful perseverance” echoing in my spirit… probably because I had a phone conversation with a good friend who had recently lost his wife to the C word.
His faithfulness through his and his wife’s journey over the past few years was nothing short of amazing.
We’ve all seen people who stand strong in the face of storms—not because they’re superhuman but because they’ve anchored their hope in something deeper. They don’t deny the chaos around them but refuse to be ruled by fear.
Life can hit hard. Disappointment, betrayal, loss, and failure aren’t strangers to any of us. These moments can leave us gasping for air, wondering if we’ll ever feel steady again.
But faithful perseverance isn’t about pretending the valley isn’t dark. It’s about trusting God in the dark—when you don’t have answers, can’t see the way forward, and your heart is worn thin.
David didn’t minimize the valley. He just made a decision: I’m not walking it alone. (See Psalm 23 below)
That’s the mindset of faithful perseverance. Not walking perfectly, not walking pain-free. Just… walking—believing that God is not only with you in it but that He’s helping you work through it.
Thought for the Day:
Even in the darkest places, God is always with us. However, we must keep our minds and spirits open and allow Him in so He can guide us.
Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me…”
