Reflection
When I started following Christ, I believed I had to clean myself up—erasing every sinful thought, word, and deed—before I could genuinely be worthy. I was chasing an impossible standard, still trapped in the very bondage I longed to escape.
Then, my AA sponsor opened my eyes. He showed me that true freedom wasn’t about fixing myself first but surrender. I didn’t have to be free to receive Christ’s freedom. I just had to let go.
Now, I no longer carry the weight of life’s burdens alone. I turn them over to Christ, who lives in me, and I find true peace of mind in that state of surrender.
“I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20)
When Paul says, “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live,” he’s not talking about physical death but the death of self-reliance.
The old life—filled with striving, fear, and control—is gone.
Christ lives in us, guiding, strengthening, transforming, and freeing us to be who He created us to be.
Thought for the day: True freedom is found in surrendering our will to God. Let go of self-reliance and trust in His divine plan.
