Reflection
I had the privilege of playing college basketball under a coach who was a disciple of Hall of Fame legend Bobby Knight. Knight was known for developing mentally tough players, and my coach carried that same mindset to Ohio Northern University.
My time as a college athlete taught me many valuable lessons, but none more important than the power of mental toughness. It wasn’t just about skill or strategy but resilience, discipline, and the ability to push through adversity. That lesson has stayed with me far beyond the court, shaping how I approach every life challenge.
Mental toughness is the backbone of perseverance.
It’s what keeps you going when everything in you wants to quit.
It’s the ability to silence doubt, overcome fear, and stay focused when obstacles rise.
The strongest people aren’t the ones who never struggle; they’re the ones who refuse to break.
Thought for the day…Challenges will test your endurance, but your mindset determines whether you persevere or give up. Mental toughness isn’t about ignoring pain or struggle, it’s about facing them head-on with resilience and faith.
Hebrews 12:1 – “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.”
