Lent Mindset Day 6 – Strength in Weakness

My strength is only as great as my dependence on God.

— JMeyer —

On August 8, 1987, at my lowest point and in sheer desperation, I cried out, “God, help me!”

Looking back on that moment, I had officially died to myself and chose dependence on Him. The next day, I sought help, and ever since, I’ve surrendered my will to God each morning, walking in His strength instead of my own.

True mental strength doesn’t come from willpower alone but from surrender.

Letting go and letting God is a powerful way to live.

Jesus calls us to die to ourselves daily (Luke 9:23), laying down pride, fear, and self-reliance. When we let go of control, we make room for God’s power.

Death to self is the doorway to true strength because it shifts our dependence from our own limited abilities to God’s limitless grace.

In weakness, He is strong (2 Corinthians 12:9).

The greatest battles are won not by striving but by surrendering. When we empty ourselves daily, He fills us with unshakable peace, wisdom, and resilience that no storm can break.

I always write from experience.

Thought for the day…A strong mindset recognizes that God’s strength sustains us even in our weakest moments. Are you generating strength by letting go and letting God?

2 Corinthians 12:9“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
