Lent Mindset Day 5 – Trusting God’s Plan

Sometimes, God's plan looks nothing like what we expected—but it is always exactly what we need.

That’s the Gulf of Mexico outside our window.

I’ve learned firsthand what it truly means to trust God’s plan. To the left is a picture I took two weeks ago while working on this writing. I’m sitting in Jordan’s wheelchair beside the couch where he sleeps, ensuring he rests for at least another hour.

Early mornings are my sacred time for writing and sometimes the setting includes keeping my eye on Jordan, but I make the most of it.

Jordan’s sleep patterns were mixed up during the pandemic and remain that way.

This isn’t the “ideal” writing setup, but it’s where God has me.

The rhythm of my life may not fit the typical mold, but it’s the rhythm God has given me.

I could let circumstances dictate my choices and say, “This is just how it is,” and give up. Or I could keep writing because I know this is part of God’s purpose for me.

Trusting Him means embracing the unexpected, finding purpose in the unconventional, and being fully present in the moment.

Sometimes, His plan looks nothing like what we expected—but it is always exactly what we need.

Thought for the day…when doubts arise, remember that God’s plan is greater than your fears. Shift your mindset to trust Him fully.

Romans 8:28, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
