Reflection: This post is a repeat and always worth repeating.
Thirty-seven years ago, on this day, I was still thawing out from my “long weekend.”
I was five months sober and fighting through a brain fog and mood swings due to the aftereffects of my five-year battle with drug addiction.
Thirty-seven years ago, on this day, God saw fit to help pull me out of my fog by blessing us with our third child, Michelle Marie.
He double-blessed us because Lori’s (my wife) birthday is also on January 15.
I am so grateful for being sober on that day and the days since.
The blessings keep on rolling.
Fact
Blessings are always right before us, but it’s impossible to see if our heads are down, our brains are numb, our eyes are closed, and our hearts are hard. I’ve been there, done that, and never want to go back.
Ephesians 1:3, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,”
