Reflection
There was a time when I thought I knew a lot.
Then I woke up in an addiction disorder treatment center, realizing that my “best” thinking had led me to that moment.
A defining moment in my treatment center stay was when my counselor told me that I didn’t have a drinking problem but a thinking problem.
She told me that if I wanted to change my life, I would need to change my thinking.
Action
I changed my thinking by taking time each morning to pray for God’s will for my life and asking Him for the power to carry it out.
Sloooooooooowly but surely, my will began aligning with His will, and my thinking began to clean itself up.
It’s pretty cool how that works.
My mind and life are not perfect, but they are significantly better than when both ran entirely dependent upon my will…I have a treatment center diploma to remind me of that… 🙂
Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
