Reflection
When I saw the opening quote, I went back several years to a conversation with a former college friend.
I was new in recovery, and he was struggling with addiction.
He could tell something had changed in me and he wanted that change to happen to him.
He used the word “need” several times in our conversation.
“I need to start getting back into shape.”
“I need to stop abusing my body.”
“I need to be a better person.”
I need, I need, I need–but he never did what he needed to do.
About a year after we spoke, he was found dead due to an overdose.
Random Thoughts
Most of us know what we need to do to become the person we want to be.
Few of us do what we need to do.
Why is that?
Those who do what they need to do start and continue.
They don’t wait for the perfect time for their new workout clothes or equipment to arrive.
They don’t procrastinate.
They simply start and continue.
Question
Are you being the person you want to be?
Fact
Life is too short to wait.
Proverbs 16:3, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
