Reflection
The opening quote is so true.
Too often, we allow our past and present circumstances to determine our life’s destination.
Fact
Recovery from anything requires us to let go and let God and become comfortable being uncomfortable.
Flashback
I recall meeting a recovering drug addict a few years ago. He not only was an addict, but he also sold drugs to have money to support his habit. When he met me, he told me he had had enough and wanted to start a new life. I assisted him in developing a plan that sent him in a new direction leaving old faces, places, and spaces behind.
He developed a new vision for his life. Or I should say, his dream finally aligned with God’s vision for his life because he also gave his life to Jesus.
A year later, my young friend had a job and became a solid father, friend, employee, and human being. His circumstances changed because he decided to go in a new direction.
Today, he is a great husband, father, and business owner.
If you don’t like where you are going, START moving in a new direction and take God along with you…you will be amazed before you are halfway through.
2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
