Really Matters

Our greatest fear should not be of failure but of succeeding at things in life that don't really matter.

— Francis Chan —

Reflection

“Is this action adding value to the desired outcome of our work?”

This is a question I asked myself hundreds of times when I was leading our pharmacy.

Our goal wasn’t just to sell medication and make money.

Our goal was to provide life-sustaining, quality of life-enhancing medications to the most vulnerable–the frail elderly.

Our goal was to make life more comfortable and enjoyable for those we served.

Quote

The opening quote from Francis Chan struck a chord with me.

It challenged me to assess whether my daily activities bring value to the world.

Challenge

Take a moment to assess your current state of doing things that matter.

Are you utilizing your unique gifts and strengths given to you by your Maker?

He gave you these gifts and strengths to make you a valuable human being so you can add value to His world while breathing His air.

Fact

God doesn’t make junk, but the world will turn you to junk if you don’t stay focused on things that matter…I always write from experience.

1 Peter 4:10, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:”
