Peace and Denying our Flesh

Everything in excess is opposed to nature.

— Hippocrates —

When I saw the opening quote, I journaled the following: Excess is one of the many tools the devil uses to blind us of His abundance.

What excesses are getting in your way of experiencing God’s abundance?

Learning to deny our flesh is what Lent is all about.

John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

Journal your thoughts:

What am I grateful for today?

In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?

What will I deny myself so I may draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?

Prayer:

God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
