Reflection
The opening quote was in my devotional from yesterday.
It caused me to dive into deep thought…
There’s so much going on in the world right now,
So many uncertainties associated with it all.
The more I’m of the world, the more I focus on the uncertainties.
The more I’m of Christ; the less my focus is on the uncertainties.
If I want peace within my soul, I cannot dwell in the fear associated with all the uncertainties.
I must dwell in Him so that He can dwell in me.
Replace all uncertainties with being certain Jesus is the way.
Know Certain, know peace.
With this Certainty comes responsibility,
A responsibility to help others let go of their uncertainties.
To help others focus more on Him than politics, war, and gas prices.
As a Christ-follower, what good is it if I have peace and His Certainty but haven’t put forth the effort to share it with others?
Acts 20:24, “But that matters little. What matters most to me is to finish what God started: the job the Master Jesus gave me of letting everyone I meet know all about this incredibly extravagant generosity (grace) of God. (MSG)
1 John 2:16, “For all that is in the world–the desires of the flesh and desires of the eyes and pride in possessions–is not from the Father but is from the world.” (ESV)
Journal your thoughts:
What am I grateful for today?
In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?
What will I deny myself so I may draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?
Prayer:
God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
