For those who are reading or have already read Corrie ten Boom’s book, “The Hiding Place,” you will know that the opening quote originally came from her father.
As his family witnessed and experienced the unfathomable during the holocaust, Casper ten Boom never wavered in his trust and faith in God.
Casper was a humble yet powerful Christ-following human being.
How often do we get angry, anxious, or depressed because we can’t figure out where God is in all of our or the world’s duress?
How often do we come down with a severe case of the “whys?”
Why me?
Why tragedies?
Why sickness?
Why her?
Why him?
Why evil?
As I’ve progressed on my faith journey, I’ve replaced my need to know why with a need to know Him better.
I am confident I will eventually have all of my whys answered, even if I must wait for the eternal.
Psalm 147:5, “Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.”
