Whipping the devil – Day 5 – Denial

“The worst lies are the lies we tell ourselves.  We live in denial of what we do, even what we think.  We do this because we are afraid.”  ~Richard Bach

Are you in denial about something?

Is there something going on in your life you know is not right but you can’t muster up the courage to face it?  Do you fear showing weakness if you seek help in solving a problem?  Are you doing things the same way expecting different results (insanity)?  Do you find yourself not wanting to confront your problems?  These are all examples of denial and denial is a dangerous by-product of fear because it creates a continuous and destructive downward spiral.

Denial is born out of fear and creates a desire to isolate and isolation is a great place for the devil to spin his lies to us.

The best medicine for denial is the truth.  Seek the truth from God and others who love you enough to tell you the truth and of course continuously pray, picture, plan and practice living in the truth a day at a time.
