Reflection from the opening quote…
A little over eleven years ago, God called me to make a career change…so I did.
I wish I could tell you it was that simple, but it wasn’t.
God began calling me to this new path about four years before I finally took the plunge.
Read yesterday’s blog if you are wondering why it took me four years. Can you say, “Fear of the unknown?”
We were in a comfortable groove.
The kids had finished college.
We were financially sound.
Then I began traversing a new path, and chaos ensued.
The chaos was not evident to the world, but it was pretty apparent in my thoughts as the committee in my head had elected several new members with fear as their middle names.
Then I thought about how I created the trails in our beautiful woods several years prior.
In the beginning, I had no clue what I was doing and where I was going.
I asked God to show me the way.
You may be wondering, “Does God give a hoot about creating paths in the woods.”
Absolutely! He cares about everything we do.
I borrowed our friends’ D.R. brush mower, bought a chainsaw, and began mowing and cutting my way through our woods. It was chaotic initially, but the further I advanced, the clearer the path ahead became.
The same happened with my new journey in business consulting which is the career path I chose after leaving the pharmacy industry.
Today I am a seasoned veteran in business coaching and reaping the rewards of having the courage to roll up my sleeves and “mowing” through the initial chaos.
There is no better tonic to overcome the fears associated with change and the initial chaos it brings in our heads than to…

- And repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 as often as you need.
