September Renewal and Kindness

If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.

— Sandy Dahl, the wife of Flight 93 pilot, Jason Dahl —

I can remember it like it was yesterday.

In astonishment and horror, I was sitting in my office at work observing the collapse of Manhattan’s iconic Twin Towers

At that moment, I had no clue what was taking place.

Eventually, we were made aware.

Evil had delivered one of its biggest blows to our great nation.

Our country mourned and grieved

and,

We became united…

We shared love…

We observed courage…

…like never before…

Here we are twenty years later.

Still fighting evil.

Our country pledged never to forget 9/11/01…but somewhere along the way, we forgot.

Hate and division (both tools of evil) is the rule of the day.

Somehow we’ve been conned into believing if you aren’t choosing sides, you aren’t American…so says evil.

Truth has gone out the window for millions of Americans.

As Christ-followers, it’s up to us to hold onto the Truth and spread the good news regardless of all the hate and division that’s attempting to infiltrate the lives of our friends and neighbors.

On this twentieth anniversary of the most horrific attack ever on our great nation, go and do something kind for someone.

Hate cannot coexist with kindness.

Life is definitely short.

There is definitely no time for hate.

and,

When forced between being right and being kind…choose kind. (R.J. Palacio)

Micah 6:8, “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
