What Are You Retaining?

People still retain the errors of their childhood, their nation, and their age, long after they have accepted the truths needed to refute them.

Reflection

Over the years, I’ve witnessed a fair share of people born into a negative life-cycle, and for one reason or another, they never take the time to change it.

It is not that they don’t want to change, but most of the time, they simply do not know how to change.

Real change begins by calling your life what it is and then what you want it to be.

Question

What lies and/or mistakes from your past do you need to release?

What truths do you need to begin living to refute the lies and create a new you?

Fact

There are three “to’s” involved in changing a habit:

1.  The want “to” — Desire

2.  The what “to” — Knowledge

3.  The how “to” — Skill

Most people want to change and know what they need to do to change.

It is the “how-to” that is difficult because it requires skill, and skill is not magically created. Instead, skill is developed through the help of a good mentor, coach, or counselor and then lots of practice.

If you are in a cycle where you want to change, and you know what you need to do to change, but you aren’t changing, you may need a little help from a professional…it works…I write from experience.

…not certain who needed this one, but I’ve got a feeling someone is deeply entrenched in a rut…
