Purpose

A difficult time can be more readily endured if we retain the conviction that our existence holds a purpose – a cause to pursue, a person to love, a goal to achieve.

Reflection

Maxwell’s quote is so true.

Having a purpose is so powerful.

Several years ago, I coached a young man who was recovering from alcoholism. Because of his years of uncontrolled drinking, he had completely messed up his relationship with his son.

After spending four sessions with him, he decided his purpose in life was to do whatever it would take to repair his relationship with his son.

The last I heard, he wasn’t where he wanted to be with his son, but their relationship was much better than it used to be.

Having a purpose is so powerful.
