Lent, Peace, and God’s Will

To choose suffering makes no sense at all; to choose God's will in the midst of our suffering makes all the sense in the world.

— Oswald Chambers —

For those of you who’ve been reading my blog for the past year, you know that 2019 was a very tough year for my family and myself.

With life there is suffering and regardless of the size of the suffering, peace can be found if we remain in God’s will. I write this from experience because even though 2019 was an absolute pile of crap from the world’s point of view, it was a year of exponential spiritual growth for me because I increased my prayer life and tried my best to stay in His will for me.

Satan has no control over your peace when you are living in God’s will.

Today I know my peace is directly proportionate to whose will I am living in–Jay’s or God’s.

How about you?

John 7:17, “If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.”

Journal your thoughts:

What am I grateful for today?

In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?

What will I deny myself so I may draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?

Prayer:

God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
