Anchor and Peace

Faith in God is the anchor that keeps the soul at peace.

A week or so ago I was immersed in a little bit of anxiety born from fear.

I don’t like anxiety so I did a quick inventory on what was going on and it was the same thing that’s been going on throughout my life whenever it rears its ugly head. I was worrying about things that were out of my control and losing focus on what I could control.

I did some extra praying during that day of anxiety and the next day my anxiety was gone and I was focused on what I had control over–my attitude and my effort.

Today I am so grateful to recognize the cause of my anxiety and my ability to turn it over to God and ask for His help in dealing with it.

The opening quote is so true.

Whatever we anchor our life to will determine how much peace we have.

There is only ONE anchor who assures us of peace 24/7 if we seek Him.

John 14:27, “I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart.  And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give.  So don’t be troubled or afraid.”  (NLT)
