Today is the first day of November which is National Gratitude Month.
Over the next thirty days, my blogs will be focused on gratitude and its many gifts.
The opening quote reminded me of countless numbers of people who’ve fanned my flame over the years. Sometimes by what they said and other times by what they did. Sometimes their words lifted me up, other times they served as a foot in the backside.
No statement was more profound to the trajectory of my life than when my recovery sponsor said, “Jay if you aren’t the problem, there is no solution.” Back in the day, I had a tendency to complain about other people, places, and things and that is what I was doing when Vic shared his life-changing thought with me. His response made me pause and think about how useless and wasteful it is to complain. In essence, the moment I complain is the moment I become the problem.
Who has lit your flame? Have you thanked him or her?
Today we thank all “flame lighters.”

P.E.A.C.E. for Dreamers…
P – (Plan) A dream remains a dream until it is written down. Putting your dream in writing is the first step in creating a PLAN to achieve it.
E – (Effort) Turning your dream into reality requires a commitment to putting forth consistent and focused EFFORT toward the execution of your plan.
A – (Attitude) If you think you can achieve your dream, you will. Your ATTITUDE always determines your altitude in life.
C – (Community) Nothing great in life happens by doing it alone. The chances of realizing your dream expand as your COMMUNITY of positive mentors and peers expand.
E – (Energy) Chasing and attaining your dream requires optimal levels of mental, physical, and spiritual ENERGY. Take care of yourself!
