Leading is Leading

2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”  (NIV)

I came across the following recorded from the Chinese founder of Taoism, Lao Tzu.  What amazes me is he had these beliefs about 2500 years ago and as far as I am concerned not much has changed when it comes to leadership.

I have a wide range of EagleLaunch readers and if there is one thing I would hope each of you would understand is we can all choose to be a leader no matter what role we play in life.  We can lead our business, we can lead our family, we can lead our co-workers but most importantly, above all we need to be a leader with our individual lives.

The Tao of Leadership

The leader is best,

When people are hardly aware of his existence,

Not so good when people praise his government,

Less good when people stand in fear,

Worst, when people are contemptuous.

Fail to honor people, and they will fail to honor you.

But of a good leader, who speaks little

When his work is done, his aim fulfilled,

The people will say, “We did it ourselves.”
