I’ve been blessed to interact quite often with two “masters of patience” for the majority of my life.
I’ve written a few times about my wife and her patience level, which is much needed when caring for our special child, Jordan.
Another “master of patience” the Good Lord placed in my life, is my one and only boss, turned business partner, turned employee of mine, and always a good friend, Tom.
When I was younger I was very inpatient. ΓΒ In fact, when I first began working for Tom, his patience drove me crazy and he knew it.
He would often say to me: “Slow and steady wins the race,” and “Good things come to those who wait.”
For driven people like me, patience is often viewed as a four letter word, but I’ve found if you want to succeed at anything, patience is a key virtue you must develop.
I prayed for patience many years ago and God gave me Lori, Jordan and Tom. Today I’m much better at being patient…sometimes God gives you no other choice.
On a side note…a couple of nights ago, Lori and I took Tom out for dinner. Tom has never seen a dinner he didn’t like and he loves dessert. When forced to make a decision on dessert for this particular dinner, I watched him mull it over for a good two minutes as he was patiently weighing between strawberry or pecan pie…pecan won…I was having flashbacks watching him make that decision. π
How is your patience?
If you have it…God Bless You.
If you don’t, start working to develop it. It makes all the difference…I write from experience.
Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
