My life made a 180 degree turn for the good on August 8, 1987. I had mentally, physically and spiritually reached my bottom and out of pure desperation I lifted my hands up and said, “God help me.”
After a family intervention the next day, I went to get help for my addiction problem. I’ve been praying to Him for help ever since.
I know no better way to persevere than to pray to God for help.
The words in Psalm 56:9 are so meaningful for me:Â Psalm 56:9, “Then my enemy will turn back when I call for help. Â By this I will know that God is for me.” Â (NIV)
When we pray to God, we can rest assured our prayer will at least cause the enemy to turn back and when the enemy turns back we have a much better chance of living life in peace and abundance.
Thus the reason the prayer, “God help me,” is the most powerful prayer we can ever pray…I write from experience.
