Gratitude Discipline

The discipline of gratitude is the explicit effort to acknowledge that all I am and have is given to me as a gift of love, a gift to be celebrated with joy.

— Henri Nouwen —

So true!

Notice the word discipline in Mr. Nouwen’s quote above.

In essence, developing an attitude of gratitude is a discipline and it evolves when we are willing to part from the world and live in His love and mercy.

A grateful heart without “want” is a heart God “wants” and will be filled plentifully with what God knows it needs.
