WHEEL OF LIFE – FOCUS AREAS We may have the greatest intentions in the world when it comes to living our purpose and chasing our dreams. But our ability of turning our intentions into worthwhile results is greatly reduced if we are not taking care of our WHEEL OF LIFE FOCUS AREAS: Spiritual, Mental, Physical, Relational, Financial.

WHEEL OF LIFE – FOCUS AREAS
We may have the greatest intentions in the world when it comes to living our purpose and chasing our dreams.
But our ability of turning our intentions into worthwhile results is greatly reduced if we are not taking care of our WHEEL OF LIFE FOCUS AREAS: Spiritual, Mental, Physical, Relational, Financial.

Over the past few days we have been focused on the Spiritual component of our Life Focus Areas.  I shared my simple formula for staying spiritually fit:  Trust God, Clean House, Help Others.

Today we take another look at what it means to help others.

Read the opening quote and reflect on it.

This phrase was pounded into my head during the early days of my recovery from addiction.  If I wanted to stay sober, I had to help others get and stay sober.

Today I know that phrase is the simplified version of Jesus’ words in Luke 6:38:  “If you give, you will receive.  Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over.  Whatever measure you use in giving – large or small – it will be used to measure what is given back to you.”   (NLT)

How willing are you to help others?  Is it an integral part of your spiritual condition?

I have found that I am more inclined to help others when I am trusting God and keeping my spiritual house clean.

In other words, when I’m letting God run the show my eyes are more focused on the needs of His people instead of my own selfish desires.

Luke 6:38, “Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back–given back with bonus and blessing.  Giving, not getting, is the way.  Generosity begets generosity.”  (MSG)
