Vision & Focus

Work is hard. Distractions are plentiful. And time is short.

I mentor a fair share of young men…it’s part of my life purpose and vision today.

I recently met with a gentleman who is in his early twenties.  He has a vision for his life and it is always exciting for me to hear him talk about it.  Every time we meet I ask him if he has a girlfriend yet and every single time he looks at me in the eyes and says, “Jay, I don’t have time for a girlfriend at this point in my life, because I’m on a mission to turn my dream into reality.”

imageAs I’ve mentioned before, our life playing field creates boundaries, guardrails and direction that help keep us on track and avoid distractions.

I believe the young man I referred to earlier will some day have a girlfriend and most likely a family, but right now those activities (DO’S) have nothing to do with what he is trying to become.

What distractions do you need to say NO! to?
