Proverbs 14…some thoughts from my simple mind

Proverbs 14:3, “A fool’s proud talk becomes a rod that beats him, but the words of the wise keep them safe.”…if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all.

Proverbs 14:7, “Stay away from fools for you won’t find knowledge on their lips.”…if you want to be a winner, run with the winners.

Proverbs 14:8, “The prudent understand where they are going, but fools deceive themselves.”…having a plan greatly aids in preventing foolishness.

Proverbs 14:9, “Fools make fun of guilt, but the godly acknowledge it and seek reconciliation.”…the willingness to repent and/or forgive is a character strength as well as a gateway to freedom.

Proverbs 14:14, “Backsliders get what they deserve; good people receive their reward.”…what goes around comes around.

Proverbs 14:16, “The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with reckless confidence.”…need I say more?

Proverbs 14:21, “It is a sin to belittle one’s neighbor; blessed are those who help the poor.”…Amen!

Proverbs 14:23, “Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty.”…I have yet to see a person who talks all the time, get anything worthwhile accomplished.  If you need to talk…remember this saying; “Small minds and people talk about things, average minds and people talk about other people, great minds and people talk about dreams, goals, ideas and concepts.”  But don’t forget…mere talk leads to poverty.

Proverbs 14:30, “A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones.”…been there done that and by the grace of God I changed in time and avoided terminal “jealousy” cancer.  If you are jealous of someone you are wasting way too much time comparing yourself to others.  The more I work on my dreams and goals the less I compare my life to others.

Wow!!!  Solomon wrote these Proverbs to remind me of what I can become—-again, if I don’t do what I need to do on a daily basis.
