HabitFast Journey-Day 4-Habits and Others

Courage can't see around corners, but goes around them anyway.

HABITWe are on Day 4 of the EagleLaunch-HabitFast Journey.  Keep in mind the real fun does not start until February 25th.  The first 7 days are all preparation days.  We are going to starve and/or start our habit for 40 days and beyond, beginning next Wednesday.

Today I would like for you to add to your HabitFast journal page, the names of all the people who will benefit the most from you starving your old habit or starting your new one…and if it is just you and God…those are the top two reasons to change.

So far your journal could look something like the following:

1.  I aspire to be at peace in all situations.

2.  In order to be at peace in all situations I will starve ALL negative and unproductive thoughts about myself and others.

3. By starving my negative thoughts I will have a calmer, more focused life in 5 years and all of my relationships will be stronger because people will want to be around me but more importantly God will make better use of me.

4.  My replacement habit(s) is/are:  Prayer and seeking God’s help in replacing all negative thoughts with productive thoughts while simultaneously eliminating negative triggers into my brain.  Please note:  negative triggers include anything from an external source that triggers unproductive thoughts…more about this tomorrow.

5.  Those benefitting the most from my habit change include:  God, me, my children,  my family, my co-workers, those around me, the world, family generations to come.*

*The reason so many people are impacted by this specific bad habit (negative self-talk) is because there is no bigger detriment to forming quality relationships with the world around you.  And if you haven’t figured it out yet, one of the 3 habits I am starving during this journey is negative self talk. 🙂

*It is important to be specific and list the names of the people who will most benefit from your change.

I hope you’re beginning to see some method behind this “habit madness” as your HabitFast journal page should be taking shape.

More to come tomorrow.

Genesis 22:18, “And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.”  (NLT)

Imagine all the people who will benefit from your habit change but most importantly imagine how you and God will benefit.
