Whipping the Devil – Day 40 – Stubbornness

“Stubbornness does have its helpful features.  You always know what you’re going to be thinking tomorrow.”  ~Glenn Beaman

There is a saying that floats around 12 Step Meetings; “I’ll show you, I’ll hurt me.”

Stubborness comes in various shapes and  sizes but when it involves relationships we can usually find the devil serving as an accelerant.

The devil looks for relationship divides (especially with family and friends) and plunges right in the middle of the divide and tries his best to fuel both fires so he can increase the divide exponentially and create a classic stubbornness “stand-off.”

The pain and fear (fueled by the devil) associated with confronting a problem with someone we are close to is minimal compared to being stubborn and choosing to carry the problem with us a lifetime.

…don’t wait until it’s too late…life is way too short…tick the devil off and become a peacemaker today!

If you battle stubbornness pray for God to take it away from you.  Picture what a life without stubbornness would look and feel like.  Plan how you will confront the issue and execute the plan…and repeat this process as often as necessary.
