Tragedy often causes me to have random, yet deep thoughts about life.
Today is another random, yet deep thought…
I can remember as a kid having a place of escape in order to just be me. It was high in a pine tree in our back yard. That was my ‘go-to’ when life became challenging.
Because of the senseless evil massacre in Vegas, I found myself spending a lot more time in my ‘pine tree’ yesterday. My ‘pine tree’ today comes in the form of conversation with God.
Where do you go when times are tough? Who do you converse with?
Where do you go when times are good? Who do you converse with?
God is available for real conversation 24/7. I guess the news and social media is too.
The devil cannot exist in God’s presence but he certainly exists in the news and social media.
Today I am very careful about which ‘pine trees’ are my ‘go-to’s’ as I know they determine my views and beliefs of the world and in-turn, what type of life I lead.
Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding (or the news or social media). Seek His will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.”
