Taper Week – Day 2

Any significant achievement begins with a vision and continues with a well thought out plan combined with an attitude focused on execution. Having a vision is the easy part, planning and executing is where the real work takes place.

Yesterday, I shared with you the fact that I will be completing a 1/2 Ironman Triathlon this Sunday.

Training for an event of this magnitude teaches me so much about life and how to live it on purpose.

The opening quote came to me this past Sunday morning as I began planning for my final week of training.  Since February, I have planned my training one week at a time.  The final week of training involves tapering down my workouts in order to have my body and mind at peak level for race day.

Whether it be triathlon training or running my business and personal life, I’ve always committed to the discipline of planning my week out on Sunday and then reviewing it’s progress each night prior to going to bed.

Do you have a vision?

How well do you plan your weeks and your days in order to help you execute your vision?

You and only you can choose to live your life by design instead of by default.
