Obscure Relevance – Order

We all need order in our lives. Some mistake control for order...there is a big difference.

The following is an EagleLaunch post from two years ago when Lori and I spent ten days in and around Alaska.

Alaska Trip – Day Six

Obscure/Relevance Topic:  Order

As I peered out the cruise ship window from my morning imagebreakfast/devotional table, I observe order.  And yes, I’m practicing my morning routine, like always.  It creates order for my day.

I notice how the mountains are ordered.

I notice how the waves in the sea are ordered.

I notice a row of houses carved in a very orderly manner along the mountainside.

G.O.D. stands for Good Orderly Direction.

God likes order but He is not controlling…he gives us free will.

Order has a way of aligning chaos to create beautiful pictures and experiences.

The need to control or be in control creates stress and tension and often prevents us from stopping to smell the roses, watch an eagle soar or cash in on a great business opportunity.

Order creates space for our virtues to flourish.

Order facilitates growth.

The key to having order in a world that often seems to be out of control is to know who you are, where you are going, and what you stand for.

Sorry for the random thoughts that rolled off my brain for today’s obscure-relevance topic…they were quite orderly from my viewpoint.

imageHighlight of the day:  Glaciers, glaciers and more glaciers…beautiful and ordered the way God meant them to be …in a beautiful, magnificent and out of control kind of way.
