Obscure Relevance – Joy

Joy is a song of the soul.

Alaska Trip – Day Eleven

Obscure/Relevance Topic:  Joy

Today I awakened with a heart at peace and my soul immersed in joy.

The peace I felt on this morning is a peace I’ve felt throughout this trip.  When we allow God’s beauty to penetrate our soul we have joy, peace and all the other fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22).

God’s beauty is everywhere, even in the storms of life.

I also figured the joy was there because we were about to take a plane to Denali Mountain which is North America’s highest mountain and from what I’ve heard one of God’s most majestic masterpieces.

But sadly enough, our trip to Denali Mountain was cancelled due to bad weather.  Although disappointed, the peace and joy I felt in the morning did not leave me.

I believe God wired us for joy but we are only able to experience its full relaxing power when we are living in the moment and not in the world.

What joys are you missing out on because you’ve allowed the world to take them away?

DSC_9068Highlight for the day:  Instead of the plane to Denali, we took a five hour narrated bus tour of Denali National Park.  We saw four moose and more of God’s artwork.
