Monday Morning Leadership – Core Values

Your core values are the heart of your business.

— JMeyer —

Last week I spoke about the very good people that worked for us back in the day.

‘Very good people,’ didn’t just happen.

We hired people who matched our company’s core values. And since we hadn’t proclaimed our core values until the company had been in existence for 60 years, we also had to train our legacy employees around these values…some made it and some didn’t.

A company’s values drive the behavior of it’s employees.

I’ve often heard business leaders say, ‘hire for attitude, train for skill.”

I believe it is even more important to, ‘hire for values.’

If you are leading an organization, have you taken the time to note four or five key values/beliefs that will drive your employees’ behavior?

It makes all the difference in the world.

Proverb 20:7, “The godly walk with integrity,”
