HabitFast Journey-Day 2-Paint the Picture

A vision is not just a picture of what could be; it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more.

— Rosabeth Moss Kanter —

HABITThe EagleLaunch HabitFast Journey is all about making positive changes in your life and becoming more.  Whatever you need in order to become more lies inside of you.  My goal over the next six weeks is to help you find “it.”

By now, you should have a section in your journal devoted to your HabitFast Journey (see February 17th’s post) and at the top of the first page of your journal’s HabitFast section you’ve documented what you aspire to Be and the habit(s) you will need to conquer in order to “Be.”

Today I would like for you to document on that same journal page what your life will look like in 5 years because of the habit you are starving or starting during the journey.  Be as descriptive and clear as possible.  Here is an example of what your HabitFast journal page may be shaping up to look like:

1.  I aspire to be at peace in all situations.

2.  In order to be at peace in all situations I will starve ALL negative and unproductive thoughts about myself and others.  {BTW…the primary reason people never totally ground a bad habit or an addiction for good is because they spend very little time on changing their talk to themselves.  If what you are thinking is bad for you (i.e. drains you, makes you worry, takes your energy away) then don’t believe it and when you quit believing it you will quit thinking it…I’m an expert on this subject.}

3. Five year picture:  By starving my negative thoughts I am more focused and at peace than I’ve ever been.  By starving my negative thoughts I’ve been able to stop my compulsive behavior because I now have a much better self-image that is not dependent upon other people, places and things for its value.  By starving my negative thoughts all of my relationships are stronger because people want to be around me, they can feel my positive energy, but more importantly God is better able to utilize me for His mission.

More to follow tomorrow.

Habakkuk 2:2, “And the Lord answered me:  ‘Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.’”  (ESV)
