Thanks or Want*

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”  ~William Arthur Ward

The key to experiencing the type of gratitude Ward describes above is getting connected to a grateful spirit as soon as you start your day and then remaining in it throughout the day. My grateful spirit is turned on during my morning prayer time with God and my prayer always starts this way::

Dear Heavenly Father; thank you for another day of living and another day of life.

How is your day started?  Do you begin in thanks or in want?  It makes a difference.
