Courage and Stepping Away

Courage doesn't express itself by marching boldly on and roaring like a lion. Sometimes courage is best expressed by quietly walking away from a situation and turning it over to God for refinement and clarification.

imageSomething I learned a long time ago was the importance of stepping away from situations that didn’t seem like they were going as planned.  Sometimes stepping away only lasts a day for me, but when I couple stepping away with turning the situation over to God, amazing things always happen.  Sometimes what happens is not what I planned but it always seems to turn out better than what I had planned.

Another discipline I practice is I picture myself handing everything I am struggling with over to God just before going to bed and I tell Him to work on it overnight and give it back to me in the morning…it is always amazing how much better shape the struggles are when He hands them back to me in the morning.  In fact sometimes the situation I was struggling with is gone.

Is there something you are struggling with?  Are you not certain whether you need to forge on or step back?  You will never go wrong by stepping back and asking God for guidance.
