About EagleLaunch

Ancient Pharmacy "Sign" located on the main street of old Ephesus, Turkey

EagleLaunch Life Coaching was founded in 2008 by Jay Meyer and started as a blog geared towards helping people take their lives to the next level.  Although the blogs have a recovery undercurrent to them, anyone can benefit from the pearls of wisdom Jay shares through real-life experiences.  The recovery undercurrent derives from Jay’s personal struggles with alcohol and drug addiction which he has been in recovery from since 1987.    (For more on this part of his journey see Jay’s Story)

After receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from Ohio Northern Universiy in 1982, Jay spent the next 28 years of his life building a multi-million dollar institutional pharmacy business.  The business was acquired three times during Jay’s tenure as President/Partner and in March of 2010 Jay “retired” and now devotes his life helping others achieve their goals and dreams in business and in life.   Jay is a certified professional life coach, an independent distributor for Advocare International, and serves as Director of Client Development for Aileron.

Jay often says, “anyone can be successful at the expense of others, but it takes a special type of discipline and focus to be successful for the benefit of others.”

In his years of working with and observing and studying successful men and women that practice excellence in all aspects of their lives, Jay noticed they have 6 common traits.

People of excellence have a Plan for their life and they understand the execution of the plan will take Effort and an effective Attitude.  They also understand the importance of being help-able as well as helpful in their interactions with the Community of people around them.  People of excellence take care of their bodies in such a way they always have Energy.

Thus, by taking the first letter in each of these key words from above, the P.E.A.C.E. acrostic is formed.  The 6th ingredient common among the people Jay chooses to emulate is they are driven by God.  This magic formula not only transpires into a life of excellence but a life of “P.E.A.C.E.” regardless of the challenges life may present.

Most of Jay’s blogs will have a “P.E.A.C.E.” undercurrent to them.

Jay’s biggest claim to fame is his family.  He and his wife Lori married in 1982 and have three grown children.  Jason and Michelle both live in the Washington D.C. area and they earned their undergraduate degrees from Dartmouth College, while their middle child Jordan is developmentally disabled and remains at home with Jay and Lori and serves as the ultimate “perspective keeper” for the Meyer clan.

A former college basketball player, Jay continues to fuel his competitive desires by training for and competing in Triathlons.

EagleLaunch’s signature Bible verse comes from Isaiah 40:30-31:

“Youths may faint and grow weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.
